When I got this bag, I tried to stuff it into my rucksack’s sleeping compartment (Coleman Max 65 Liter) and was very happy to see that it fit, especially considering the price and that it is a O degree bag.
The only time a sleeping bag is important to me is on hikes because any other time I’m with my wife and kids in a cottage or tent. On family camps, weight and warmth of the sleeping bag doesn’t much matter because it is car camping in warm months.
I’m thrilled with this bag, though, because I can also use it for overnight hiking trips in colder weather. It is very light, compact, comfortable and warm (again, especially for the price).
I got in this bag and immediately, my first thought was “this thing feels like an electric blanket!” I love it. If you are interested in cool to cold weather camping (even backpacking) then you should buy this sleeping bag. I also love the color.
As a bit of an aside on backpacking philosophy, I think you should give more weight considerations, and cost factor as well, to your sleeping bag in cooler months. A tent won’t keep you warm and will also block the heat of the fire from you. I suggest taking a heavier sleeping bag and making a tarp shelter. Youtube has tons of videos on this. You’ll pack lighter, be warmer, save money, and yes, it may make you a little better person. Oh, and a tarp shelter when properly constructed will also keep you drier than a tent if it rains. Really, it will.
